We just installed FSM to manage a few firewalls and of the 3 firewalls I currently have in FSM, one of them is running really slow. I'm pretty sure its directly related to the configuration size, the two firewalls that are doing well have about 1500-2000 lines of config, while the one taking forever in FSM has about 11,000. It took several hours to import this firewall, I was hoping that was going to be the only part that took forever, but I'm generating reports on it and that seems to be taking hours also.
Is the amount of time directly related to the # of lines? Can you do anything to improve it greatly? Right now our CPU and memory both are hovering just below 60% most of the time on that box. We have it installed on a server 2012, 64-bit Xeon E5 2.6GHz (dual core), 4Gb RAM allocated to it. Would giving it more memory help much even though its hovering at about 60% used of the 4Gb?
Just curious about others experience with this product not having used it at all before this. Thanks!
