Event Log Monitoring

Hello,

I want to be able to generate emails when specific events appear in the Windows security event log. I found the guide for application monitoring with WMI.

Is there a guide for event log only? I plan the user to be a member of Event Log Readers and I think the DCOM permissions might be excessive.
